ECLOF Colombia participates in a seminar on Poverty Measurement

16 November 2011 | This seminar was organized by the Grameen Foundation and the Ford Foundation

ECLOF Colombia participated in a seminar on Poverty Measurement organized in collaboration with the Grameen Foundation and the Ford Foundation.

Indeed, CGAP, the Grameen Foundation, and the Ford Foundation all place special emphasis on the importance for microfinance institutions to measure poverty adequately. All three organizations strongly support the use of specially designed tools for the efficient monitoring of the social benefits of their work.

Enna Lemus, ECLOF Colombia’s Special Projects Director, represented the Organization at this seminar and brought back to the team invaluable information on the PPI (Progress out of Poverty Index). In particular, she explained how to incorporate the PPI to the office’s daily activities, as well as the importance of coupling it with other social impact variables and applying it within the greater context of Social Performance discourse and monitoring.
