To
carry out its work over the last fifty plus years, ECLOF
has benefited from the help of many individuals and organizations.
Throughout the world members of the ECLOF family generously
share their time and money to further the goals of providing
fair credit for human development. People volunteer their
time as members of our local and Geneva boards of trustees,
reviewing loans, establishing policy and generally making
sure that things work as they should. ECLOF also receives
support from church groups who donate their offerings of
sharing through ECLOF.
ECLOFs
primary financial support comes through church related organizations.
These organizations are a vital source of resources and
ideas for ECLOF. Indeed our work would not be possible without
this support.
The
World
Council of Churches (WCC) and ECLOF have a
long history and special relationship based in Ecumenism.
Though ECLOF does not receive funds from the WCC, the history
of both of the organisations dates back to one of ECLOF's
founders, Visser 't Hooft, who was also the first General
Secretary of the WCC. Today, ECLOF and the WCC work together
in many areas and coordinate their programmes wherever possible.
Oikocredit
and ECLOF have much in common sharing one mission and vision
but with two different ministries. The two organisations
have therefore formalised a "Strategic Alliance"
to maximise their efforts and resources and work toward
enhanced complementarity in their services to the needy.
